Our baby's a week old and has been either sleeping or eating most of the time we've seen her. But when we saw her yesterday, she was awake and alert for hours!! We stopped by to visit on our way home from Jim's VA doctor appointments.
On Wednesday, Jim's brother & sister-in-law came to visit & see the baby. But when we got to J&J's house, they'd taken her to the doctor because she wasn't eating very much or eliminating. So they panicked (new parents). The doctor advised feeding every 3 hours, even waking her in the night for feedings. She'd lost 1/2 an ounce of weight in 2 days, and she should be gaining 1/2-1 oz per day. J-Me takes her back on Monday for another weigh-in to see how things are progressing. When we saw her yesterday, she took 2.5 oz. of formula ... she seems to be doing fine now.
We FINALLY got rain on Thursday, too -- thanks to Hurricane Dolly. I just wish we'd get more. Everything's so dry and thirsty. Our ground has huge cracks that I could put my hand into -- and they're deep, at least a foot!
Thanks to everyone who've emailed me with "congrats" and gifts for the baby. J&J appreciate it very much, as do we. Thanks Donna for the precious outfit!! And thanks Rhonda for the floor sweeper! That's so neat and you really didn't need to do that!

She's SO precious!!
+068.jpg)
So tiny and precious!
Today was the first day that I DIDN'T see her!
I can't wait until we can spend more time with her (one-on-one). Right now, there are SO many people wanting to come visit, so we're "sharing" our time with her and her parents.
Please continue to keep everyone in your prayers. Especially the birthmother who's made the biggest sacrifice of all. Pray that God gives her peace and comfort with her decision. And that she knows how precious she is to our family, will always be a part of our family and that of her birthchild.
Thanks so much!!

Our granddaughter has arrived!!
I know this comes as a surprise to everyone.
J&J were chosen in June as adoptive parents. They told only the immediate family on Father's Day. They asked us not to tell anyone until they brought the baby home. We honored their wishes.
She's a beautiful baby and looks so much like J-son, it's really amazing and uncanny! If one didn't know better, you'd think he was the birthfather. Our baby girl even has a dimple in the middle of her chin! She's absolutely precious and so good. She fussed a little because of a wet and poopy diaper...her Pawpaw changed her! He was the first to change J-Me's diaper when she came home from the hospital, too. He's so proud of this!
For privacy reasons, I'm not putting photos of her on this blogsight.
I've learned that these become "permanent" on the Internet, and are very difficult to remove (especially for novices like me).
Those of you who know me probably have already received my email with 14 photos!!
We are very blessed, and thank God that our birthmother had the courage to go through with her decision. We'll never know how difficult this was for her, and can only imagine the heartache and heartbreak she's experiencing. But I hope God will give her comfort and that she knows her baby girl is with two people who love her with all their hearts for the rest of their lives. Not to mention us, too -- her very own Nani and Pawpaw!!

Howdy, Everyone!! Long time, no hear!
This is the Celebrity "Infinity" cruiseship we were on for the Alaska cruise...+Alaskan+Cruise+(May+23-30,+2008)+051.jpg)

Wow! It's been a couple of weeks, maybe three, since I blogged! Sorry about this.
Starting up a "new" business has consumed my time. I've had so many calls to make to set up accounts with tour operators & vendors, insurance companies, print and radio advertising, ribbon cutting with the Chamber of Commerce, etc. And I have to be available to clients who want quotes and are buying packages.
Thanks a BAZILLION to those of you who've registered on my website for the FREE Caribbean cruise for 2 including airfare. The drawing will be on November 15th. GOOD LUCK to all who've entered!! When you register, you can also opt-in to receive email on specific cruises and/or land packages. I hope that you'll take advantage of this -- one is for unadvertised specials (great deals) that come up.
Please continue to PR for me -- tell your friends, colleagues, family members, even strangers (LOL) to go to my website and register, too. The more you refer, the more entries you have in the drawing!
Jim's going to the VA next week for a biopsy. His PSA levels have doubled since they were last done (??maybe a year ago??), but are "within limits" -- guess the doctor just wants to make sure everything's still alright. Jim's not looking forward to this -- especially when he found out there'll be NO anesthesia and just which orifice they go through to do the biopsy!! OWEEEEEeeeee! Please keep him in your prayers. We both feel that everything will be fine, but prayers never ever hurt!
We're going to Cancun in August -- it's a business trip for me. Our friends Ann & Gary are going with us. We'll do 3 hotel inspections while we're there. It's a 5 star, all inclusive, adults only hotel that's opening in 3-weeks in Maroma Beach (between Cancun and Playa del Carmen). It's supposed to be the cream of the crop down there now. I can't wait -- lobster and steak for dinner! YUMMY!
Well, tonight's almost a full moon!
And we've had no rain for a LONG time. Everything's getting brown...Jim waters my plants daily. We had dark clouds and thunder yesterday and it rained 2 inches east of us...but the rain just seems to go around us. We sure need it very badly. I walked across some of our property this evening, and there are HUGE cracks all over the ground...I could stick my hand into them -- that's how far apart the earth has cracked open!
It's late and I'm tuckered out. I'm going to bed early for once! G'night and God bless!
